AMERICA’S LOST BAND, the award-winning documentary about The Remains, will be screened July 16th, 2009 at the Don’t Knock The Rock Film Festival. was screened at the Regent Film/Music Festival at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA, on Sunday, May 17th, at 6PM.

The Ponderosa Stomp, New Orleans, Louisiana
The documentary kicked off the Ponderosa Stomp’s Music Conference. It screened on Tuesday, 4/28 at 3:30PM at the Cabildo in Jackson Square, New Orleans.
The Remains performed at The House of Blues on Tuesday night, 4/28 at the Ponderosa Stomp Festival. Their performance made the front page of The New York Times Arts Section, Friday, May 1st, in an article by Jon Pareles.

The Ponderosa Stomp traditionally takes place between the two weekends of the city’s world-famous New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The dates this year were April 28 & 29, 2009.

As part of the Ponderosa Stomp Music Conference, the new documentary film about The Remains, AMERICA’S LOST BAND, was screened at the Louisiana State Museum in Jackson Square. Immediately following the screening, there was an interview and
Q + A, moderated by Lauren Onkey of the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

A few of the many legendary music figures interviewed during the music conference were: Cosimo Matassa, Joe Bihari, Rick Hall, Dave Bartholomew, Dan Penn, and Mac Rebennack.

I was honored and thrilled to attend the world premiere of the documentary
film about The Remains, AMERICA’S LOST BAND. All four Remains were present for the initial screening at the Boston Film Festival. It was a very special experience for us. We wholeheartedly appreciated the interest and enthusiasm of the crowd, nearly two-hundred strong.

The film is excellent, and it’s a new experience seeing ourselves on the big screen. We performed three songs live, “unplugged”, after the film, and the entire audience gave us a standing ovation!

Documentary Film “America’s Lost Band” To Premiere at the Boston Film Festival

The documentary film AMERICA’S LOST BAND, the story of The Remains, will have it’s World Premiere at the Boston Film Festival on Sunday, September 14th at 4PM. The screening location is as follows:

The Kendall Square Cinema
One Kendall Sq.
Cambridge, MA 02139.

Members of The Remains will be on hand to answer questions after the film,
and also to perform several songs, “unplugged”. The documentary is
directed by Emmy Award winner Michael Stich, and produced by Fred Cantor.

This reissue offers their original ten cut debut album now augmented with ten bonus tracks. Add to that glorious updated sound and some cool liner notes and it�s 1966 again. Led by Barry Tashian this band created quite a stir in their day up in the Northeast. Their brand of jangly American rock was right in step with the times.

This will replace the CD “Barry & The Remains” The CD new cover will be the original LP cover from 1966! Fans have been asking for this new album. We’re delighted that the SonyBmg label is making it available!
